Wedding in the Woods near Barcelona

Yeah, I’m back!! Sorry, I know it’s been a long time, but it looked like I really needed that time. I really do want to go on with the blog, despite the day job, the baby, and you know, trying to keep up friendships… But I must admit I can’t promise I’ll be as regular as before. So now more than ever, the best thing for you to do if you want to be kept informed about the latest updates here, is to enter you email somewhere on this website to be notified. But you know, it’s up to you.

Today’s wedding took place near Barcelona. I really really loved the spot, this little church in what looks like the deepest depths of the (Catalonia) forest. Let’s take a quick history break, apparently the church is an ancient construction from the XVII-th century called Pou de Glaç, where people used to store the ice. It was an intimate party with only 30 guests and the reception was celebrated in the woods near the construction. Here’s from Carla and Carles about the kind of wedding they wanted.

Well, that was crystal clear since day 1. A special location and a few number of guests (family and close friends, basically). No obligations and things like that. Birthday party-like, but celebrating love instead of years. We were very lucky to be able to celebrate our engagement in a pretty magical place in the middle of the forest in Catalonia.

Name one thing you regret…

We know it sounds cliché, but nothing. Second thought: Ok, maybe if we had eaten something during all the afternoon we would sure have appreciated the quality and diversity of our catering. According to everyone else in there, it was yummy. Not kidding, though.

… And one thing that makes you proud.

Getting married in front of our little baby girl (we have a daughter), making our family and close friends feel happy and comfy on our day, hiring Bodas de Cuento to organize everything before and during the wedding, being able to call Marina & Ricky (from Bodas de Cuento) our friends right now, having wonderful memories about that day that will last forever thanks to Raquel Benito and her gorgeous photo essay… and yeah, why not? Having pretty less memories on the “after-party” thanks to tequila”.

Mariella + Jakub

Laid-Back Wedding in Czech Republic

Mariella & Jakub got married after 19 years of relationship! It was actually a tough 2013 that made them want to have a fresh start… So they called their friend Isabelle of Plumière to capture the day for them and off they went to Czech Republic, where the groom’s originally from. I love the vibe of this very laid-back wedding!

The wedding happened on the 20th of September 2014, in ‘Doubice‘, part of the Czech Republic called ‘Bohemian Switzerland‘, next to a huge national park.

After 19 years of relationship and a really messy year 2013 we decided to bond together forever. So we kinda left the evil years behind a ended with a new beginning. The fun fact about the wedding was that my father officiated the ceremony. He’s the mayor of the village so he has the official perdition to do so.

We had a small and private celebration, a grand firework provided by the brides father, who used to be a fire fighter. That was really amazing and everybody had 3-D glasses on that projected little visual hearts into the fireworks, so we’ve been all shouting and yelling from the deepest if our happy bodies and minds :)

Name one thing you regret…

Never allow your friends to take pictures especially during the ceremony. In fact if you book a professional photographer like Isabella no one else should take any shots. And tell anybody to NOT put the pics on Facebook or other social networks, if you don’t want any bad surprises…

… And one thing that makes you proud.

Stay cool. It’s your celebration, the grand day, everything is about you and nobody else. Anyone got a problem, it shouldn’t be yours. Enjoy, don’t stress, take fresh air on a regular basis and be happy. Smile, because it’s so easy.

Fall Post Wedding Session in the Woods

I’m back to posting couple sessions! I kind of missed them, didn’t you? Diane and Guy are both photographers and got married in October last year. Those are some photos they did after the wedding. I love the slight mist of the valley and the gorgeous colors of the forest at this time of the year! But most of all, I love the energy of this couple. A few days ago, Guy left a comment on a wedding I posted saying that he loved how hot the newly weds were looking, and the fact that “there was no poney or flower crown”; well, let me return all those compliments to you guys! What’s more they had the great idea of having our good friend Elodie Winter of Photography by Winter take their photos – the same good idea we had a couple of years ago. The word of the photographer.

I felt very honored when Diane and Guy asked me to be their wedding photographer, them being photographers as well. We got along right away, I liked them, their stories, the way they talk from each other 10 years after they started dating, how they look at each other and have fun together. Not only they’re beautiful people (people walking around and seeing us making pictures thought Diane and Guy were not a real couple but models… Come-on!!), but they’re among the sweetest persons I know of. The kind of people you want to hang out with, the kind you wish they would move in your neighborhood…oh wait. They did! (yeah yeah, I know it’s pure random, but let me believe they moved there because of me!) Once again, I’m very thankful to have such amazing clients that I can call friends. At first, we planned to do their couple wedding portraits during winter. But, their wedding day was such an amazing autumn day, they changed their mind and we quickly organized a shoot to enjoy the last days of fall. We couldn’t have been more blessed. Even though it was pretty cold out there, the sun showed up during our session and all three of us were just amazed by this insane light and beautiful landscape.
