Rock Climbing Engagement Session

I love when couples decide to go for a love session that says something about them. It makes a photography story that’s beautiful but also real, that means something to them, and that without any doubt, they’ll always look back after with joy. Photography by G&D Photography (who you can also meet here on the blog) out of France.

Here you can read how this rock climbing engagement session perfectly fits the story of these two:

More than 10 years ago, our glances first crossed on this block site where some rock-climbers had gathered for a climbing contest.
That’s why this place became part of OUR story… A few years later, we met again and haven’t been apart since then!
We spent 8 years living together, sharing our passion for rock-climbing, studying together at University for 5 years, until Geraldine passed her final exam… We then decided it was time to get married!
On a Wednesday afternoon of March, after a beauty makeover by Diane (the gifted photographer), the four of us went to our favourite place. The shooting session took place in an excited but natural atmosphere, thanks to an amazing light, but also because we were at ease in that place, looking forward to getting married!
Diane and Guy made us feel comfortable and confident, as if we had been knowing them for years ! The shooting ended at dusk, we were a bit cold and shivering but thrilled to have shared such a wonderful moment.

The word of the photographers.

We are always ready for shooting sessions out of the ordinary. When Geraldine and Cyrille asked us if a climbing session might interest us, we of course immediately embraced the idea.
And we were not disappointed! We did not see the time elapsing, ideas rushed into our heads, the Spring light was insane, our “bride and groom to be” were gorgeous and their love clearly genuine. No “cliffhanger” here (sorry), we all know how this story will end!

Letícia + Uelinton

Skydive Wedding with a Ring Exchange on the Plane and an Actual Parachute Jump

What’s more natural for a couple of skydivers than to get married on a plane, right before a parachute jump? This was the wedding of Letícia & Uelinton. Lucky for them, the bridesmaids and groomsmen are all skydivers—if not instructors or world champions in their discipline—and could fly up in the air with them. They had a reception with appetizers & cakes on the ground for the non-skydivers, but the actual wedding is considered to be that moment in the sky, when they exchanged their rings and then skydived for the first time as a married couple. How romantic?
These photos were taken by a husband and wife duo that I had the honour of meeting, several times actually (because we liked each other a lot!), Fabio and Julia of Duo Borgatto. For the story, Fabio did some skydiving lessons so it was ok for him to go with the couple! They’re both gonna be in France from June 20 until July 23 before possibly moving over here for good in 2015 (YAY!!), so if you’re still looking for a photographer to shoot your wedding, search no longer!

Mariana + Francisco

Brazilian Picnic Wedding with Mountain Bikes

When I saw the pictures of Mariana and Francisco with their bikes on their wedding day, I couldn’t resist! The wedding took place in São Paulo, Brazil, a (very) big city, but it didn’t stop this couple from having the wedding they wanted – a picnic with their guests after the ceremony in a public park and mountain bikes to join the place… How cool! After all, Francisco proposed to Mariana at the finish line of a 600km run, no surprise they did something crazy for their wedding too! The beautiful photos were taken by Frankie e Marília. I love them all totally fell for the magical couple pictures. Tell me your thoughts!

The wedding took place on October 2, 2013, at the Ibirapuera park, in São Paulo, Brazil. Here’s the story of this couple, from the bride.

Francisco and I knew each other from being co-workers. We started doing “adventure races” together (running, cycling, paddling and rappelling), that are for teams only. This is when we fell in love and started dating…

During the month of April of 2012, he participated in a race called “Ecomotion”, a 600 km long race that usually lasts from 5 to 7 days (with very little sleep time, depending on the team’s strategy). I wasn’t training enough to participate this time, so he only asked I’d be there for the very end of the race, when he’d arrive…

When he crossed the line he surprise-proposed to me! There’s a video (in Portuguese) here.

Name one thing you regret…

I can’t think of anything!

… And one thing you’re really happy about/ proud of.

That we did the civil ceremony by bike and had our wedding ceremony outdoors (in a park, a place that we both love). It was simple, our only guests were members of our families and the bridesmaids and groomsmen, but it was just what we needed to have our hearts filled with love. We’re happy we didn’t follow any pattern or pre-established rule… (Why would we at all need to get married in a closed room if we can have everything take place in a park with an officiant?)
