Filipa + Niki

Circus Themed Wedding in Portugal

I love circus weddings! I suppose you remember Lauren and James’? Well, Filipa and Nikis’ is, although based on the same theme, a whole lot different. It’s been thought by a Portuguese team called “De Alma e Coração” which means With Soul and Heart, and the word team is in this case fully appropriate: they have designers, photographers and videographers, in other words, all you need for a wedding. I am more than happy that they contacted me, and I won’t give any suspense here, there’s going to be more of them soon! In the meanwhile, I let you discover the pictures of a very perfect wedding (don’t miss the kids’ table, with all the small animals on it). Parabéns Filipa e Niki! Filipa and Niki wanted a wedding “where everybody would have fun, that would not be dictated by the standards”…

… And this is what happened, the good energy brought the perfect guests for the perfect wedding!

M + J

French-Brazilian Wedding

No, M + J does not stand for Marcio and Joana! But here’s the wedding of another French-Brazilian couple, Brazilian bride out of Amazonia and French groom out of Poitou-Charentes. The wedding took place in France, which makes it the very first french wedding on the blog. Uhuuuu! Photos by Jean-Laurent Gaudy.

When Amazonia and Poitou Charente meet, what does that give? A bride’s family late at church, but who cares? After his “oui” and her “sim” being exchanged, everybody gathered in the middle of the church to sing Gonzaguinha’s Viver e não ter a vergonha de ser feliz (live and be happy without shame) samba song, which is basically the Brazilian national anthem. A ceremony ending in Brazilian rhythm under a typical French lavender rain!

Name one thing you regret…

No regret… Sun was lacking at the end of the day, though this was more an issue for our Brazilian guests than for the French ones. Let’s just say this was the touch of exoticism seen from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean!

… And one thing you’re really happy about / proud of.

All our guests left the wedding with a typical ring from Amazonia made out of Tucumã wood, which symbolises love and fraternity. This was our gift to them and today, what a pleasure to see them all wearing it!
