Alyssa + Justin

Outdoor Ceremony and a Party in the Middle of the Forrest with a DJ Booth in a Tree

Today’s wedding is so cool. Alyssa and Justin got married on a field on Justin’s parents’ property, and then everybody headed to the forrest clearing nearby for the reception. I love how convivial this place looks—believe me, you want a campfire for your wedding—and reflects the couple’s personality and history; so simple yet so very special. Photography by The Parsons, out of the USA.

Alyssa and Justin’s wedding took place in Louisburg, Kansas USA, this last October. You may see a sheep on the pictures, don’t worry, it was Justin’s present to Alyssa:
When Justin proposed he gave me a baby lamb named Franc. I got to bottle feed him, road trip with him, live in a dorm with him, shop with him…needless to say he was definitely a guest of honor at our wedding.
I just love that there are so many personal touches in this wedding: Alyssa made the chandelier for above the dance floor out of chicken wire and twine, and Justin and his dad made a DJ booth in a tree!

Name one thing you regret…

We had been excited about the food for so long, but didn’t end up getting to even one food station…too busy hugging and dancing.

And one thing you’re really happy about/ proud of.

Our families empowering us to have a wedding in the middle of a forrest despite the extra leg work. We felt so blessed by their efforts and encouragement!

Teele + Mart

A Yellow Deep-Dyed Wedding Dress and a Gigantic Letter

I know I shouldn’t be saying that yet, but this wedding is totally making it to my best of 2013 selection. You know that sensation, when you get goosebumps, start feeling a lump in your throat and then stupidly want to cry a little bit? Well I felt that. Three times. First when I saw the post on Stina’s blog, second when she allowed me to blog it, and then finally when I was preparing this post. Not that it’s particularly emotional, it’s just goddamn beautiful! Ready for another incredible series of pictures by Stina Kase?

The wedding happened on July, 7th 2012, in Tallinn Old Town (on the roof of the Estonian Maritime Museum “Paks Margareta”) and then later at the coastal village “Salmistu”, both located in Estonia. Believe it or not, this is a DIY wedding; everything, from the concept to the smallest detail—check out this deep-dyed dress and those badges on the tables with the names of all the guests—were thought by the bride and the groom. Huge congrats to them for doing so well, for the consistency and for their choices of location (venue is definitely everything). Anyone planning her wedding right now: flight these guys out of Estonia to do it for you. And tell them to bring Stina with them. :)

Regarding the wedding, name one thing you regret…

Everything went well, but we forgot small vodka glasses, so who wanted to drink vodka, had to drink it from wine glasses. :)

…And one thing you’re really proud of / happy about.

We are proud that our guests have good memories and stories from that day.

Louisa + Eskil

Simple Swedish Wedding in Gotland with Old Carts

Many times, people try to do something unique for their wedding. But it happens sometimes that the persons that the most should enjoy the day—bride & groom—, just don’t seem to. I fell in love with Louisa and Eskil’s wedding in Gotland from the very moment I discovered it: original yet simple ideas, and above all, ideas that seem to perfectly correspond to the bride and groom. Photography credit: 2 Brides Photography, from Sweden.

The wedding took place in Gotland, Sweden.
