Mélanie + Matthew

Perfect French/ South African Wedding

I am super happy to share this wedding with you today: über-pretty dress and suit, a bus to take all your guests with you, an outdoor ceremony with an amazing landscape, entertainment (a mechanical bull!) and a beautiful venue. Besides, if countryside and flower fields is your thing (it’s totally mine), then you should definitely continue reading. Photography by Modern Hearts, based in South Africa.

Julia + Ricardo

Outdoor Brazilian Clown Wedding

This post is to close all discussion about what makes a wedding beautiful. It’s you, your love, your emotions—that will eventually be captured by your photographer. Details are great, but you know, it’s like your home: it’s great to decorate it so it reflects your personality; but what makes your home your home, is how you feel and what you lived there. Subject closed, today’s wedding is Julia and Ricardo’s. They’re actors (clowns!) and maybe that’s why so much emotion is expressed, but whatever the reason, we could all learn from them. Photography by Mariana Magno, from Brazil.

Julia and Ricardo were both part of a troupe of street theater and met while on tour in Brazil. It took them 30 cities to finally, in the last week, start dating. Their story started there, and then 8 years later, these now parents of a 4 years old girl and a 5 years old dog got married. They had an intimate wedding, with a very simple ceremony led by a pastor friend and were surrounded by their closest friends. Small yet important detail for those planning their wedding right now: it took them less than 20 days to plan theirs…

Name one thing you regret…

My only small regret is to not have taken a look at the decoration some time before all our guests arrived. It was beautiful and I wish I had enjoyed more the atmosphere created by our decorator.

… And one thing you’re really happy about / proud of.

I loved to have our daughter to be our maid of honour! It was a dream… She was the most beautiful in the world.

A Mother’s Love

No, we are not having a maternity section on the blog, and I have no personal announcement to make. But those pictures really are compelling. And it’s still about love, right? Photographs by my recent photographer crush Stina Kase, out of Estonia.
